Bakery Sadness

It is not a good sign when you google “bakeries” and your zip code and for five pages you get mall cookie shops.

Gimme good bakeries!

    I agree!

My search turned up three grocery stores, three Bread Companies, and a donut store. The closest “real” bakery is in Fenton on the other side of 44.

I’ve been making Whole Foods my default when I need a baked good.

I don’t know exactly where you are in the Lou, but I’ve been going to Lubeley’s (http://lubeleysbakery.com) and Federhofer’s (which, unfortunately, doesn’t have a website.)

This is the problem, people in St. Louis. You are IN ST. LOUIS. I am out in St. Charles County. My bakeries are the one that rocks the donut or it’s a chain of mediocre shit.

    Thank god for the donuts.

And oh, still, thank you for sharing awesome bakeries with me. I do travel for food!

Kathy, yep, I got Bread Companies too! NO FAIR, you are near a Whole Foods!

Here in Fuck Smith, we have to do our own baking. Srsly. The only “bakery” is Wal-Mart. Well, there’s Creative Kitchen, which makes cakes, but not good cakes. No one makes bread or bagels, much less anything cool

    So sad!

When we lived in Kirkwood, there were no shortage of yummy places. We’re sort of near Fenton. So thanks Kathy G. Sounds like someone needs to open up a bakery in your neck of the woods.
