Proof that pink hair is not as shocking as I always assumed it would be

When I first went all pink with the hair, I didn’t do it for shock value, I did it as pick-me-up therapy.

However, all my life I assumed that was pretty shocking stuff. Pink hair! My lands!

I assumed I’d get a few looks here and there, negative looks for sure, and especially from other parents, or the kids’ teachers. You know, somebody somewhere.

Nope, nada, never.

I get happy faces if someone is looking. It’s nice. And mostly, no one gives a hoot. I enjoy this, I like good attention or no attention. I don’t know what is going on inside people’s heads, but outwardly, it’s a non-issue.

Even when I met NB’s parents this weekend.

I once attempted to dye my hair purple, which turned out grey-bruisy looking. My BF (at that time) called me grandma, and his parents thought I was weird way before the bad dye job.

My one attempt at purple looked great that day, blue the next, and yep, GREY the rest of the time until it faded enough to color over it. Ugh.

I got more hoots and hollers as a fire engine redhead than any other hair color. (Not that I’ve had that many different hair colors. Usually, my hair varies from black to blacker. Getting it red was an all afternoon undertaking.)

    Love that.

My hair never took the purple…I need to bleach it first…I’m scared.

I LOVE your pink hair. If I wasn’t so red-faced I would totally try it too.
