The Details
My sister is awesome because when I call her and ask, “Hey, watcha doing tonight? I was wondering if you guys wanted to meet the boys and me for dinner?”
And she answers, “Oh sis, are you okay? It’s been a bad day, hasn’t it. You need to come over here right away. Bring wine.”
I do go to dinner with her when I am okay, but she just knew this was different. And she was right. She said her reply and I just started weeping like a baby.
The sick part is I had NOTHING that day that should have made a bad day or put me out of sorts.
Sometimes, I think we just let go and there is all the stuff we’ve been keeping together. Pouring out when the permission is given and you can’t hold it together any longer.
Pouring wine, love, and laughter back in helps. Greatly.

If I ever live in a different house than my sister, I hope this is what our relationship would be like. Unloading is never easy or pleasant, but it does let us know who we can count on. Waves of emotion x 20, then the warm fuzzies. Gotta love it!
