So Boring!
Okay, so my life is anything but boring right now but I am assuming this blog sure is.
Here is some lame updating. And look! (sparkles) Something uh, shiny!
Basically, I’m busy. It’s the end of the semester and I’m swamped with making, giving, and grading finals.
I’m looking for a place for the boys and I to call our next home, calling and viewing places. (A note to landlords: the most expensive place I looked at was the ickiest, crappiest dump ever, please do not have visions of grandeur, it does not impress.)
I hear it’s Christmastime from the loud song played in the grocery store, a song I’m pretty sure has one lyric…Jeeessssuuuuusss JEEEEEEsusssss…but there are no presents bought yet.
I brought my darling kitty, Nero, with me to my mom’s place and he’s getting used to it. Slowly. I hope he goes in the litter box soon.
Mike bought a new kitten because Ivan is NOT a loner cat. He needs a baby and so now, he does.
Vladimir (the Impaler) is the new addition.

Ah, I see… he is eastern Europe and you are Italian! At least by the sounds of your kitties’ names…
I know how busy this time of year is for everyone. I would imagine that anyone in the teaching profession is slightly more nutso than your average Joe, and slightly less so than, say, retailers trying to end the year on a high note.
My cousin is getting divorced. She’s found a place to live for her and her two kids, but not for five cats. She can keep two, but the other three need to have new homes. I’m probably going to inherit one…
Finding a place to live is tough. Lots of variables (cost being one) to sort out, but the right place will present itself sooner or later - just keep the faith that things will work out the way they need to.
As for Christmas… I’m not much further ahead than you are. I’ve got shopping done for my boy, but that’s it.

Seriously, it’s Christmas? Wow, I had no idea. Actually, I’m hoping that if my denial runs deep enough, the bank account will not go so deep. We shall see.
Cute, cute feline. I miss that kitty/not yet cat stage. But that got me into my 4 cat situation (I was getting one a year for a while there!) and I think that 5 cats would just be freaky, you know?

Cute! Kitten!
Also… Christmas is going to be weak around here this year; we haven’t bought anything just yet, and what we do get will be smallish. But I’m not worried about it.
Much.
Anymore.
I hope yours is awesome, awesome, awesome.

Love that dichroic glass. I would so much rather have glass than diamonds, no matter what the TV tells all the boys this time of year. (Yeah, I’m still on that.)
Gah, splitting up the kitties. It doesn’t get more gruesome than that.
There is much to be said for a boring life. I court and embrace boringness, personally, having had way too much excitement already. I think that’s one of the things people mean when they wish each other peace during the holidays. It’s more than not war. It’s quiet, unglamourous contentment, the peace of stars exploding so far away they appear to us as twinkles, the peace of clean fresh snow and clean soft flannel sheets, the peace of knowing your utility bills are paid, your fridge is full, and your pipes are insulated, the peace of watching all the bodies you love best while they sleep. It’s very, very nice when you can manage it.
Best wishes to you — including, naturally, this kind of peace.

Ohhh pretty sparkly bracelet. And pretty kitty cat too.
I hope 2007 is “the year of the Sugared Harpy”!

Despite all that is going on (and finding a place and moving is a wretched exercise), I hope that you are able to have a nice holiday with your family. And I ditto MotherofBun’s hopes for 2007.
