Since the beginning of the month, I’ve had the kids start in a little light homeschooling to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Note: I do not homeschool in general; they attend public school. Yet both had forgotten so much and it doesn’t take much out of our day to do it. I think it’s helping them not kill each other as the summer boredom sets in. I think it keeps them quiet so I don’t stuff them in a FedEx box and ship them to Canada. Eh.
This is so making me want to homeschool for a couple of years (jury’s still out on schooling plans, though, since my only is only two). What non-Mom teacher on earth would let a kid get away with being that honest?
I think I would have had a three-month screaming fit if my mother had tried to homeschool me over the summer at that age (I went to public school). Then again, we did spend almost every summer Saturday at the library . . . Hey! Wait a minute! ;)

HA! I totally love your kid. My older girl would draw pictures and doodles on the margins of every single thing she ever did.
