Redesign and an Interview

I’ve redesigned a bit again. The header image is Cupid and Psyche by François Gérard. I love the interaction between the two figures and those wings are stunning. I loved the previous Barocci but oy, do I see a lot of Barocci at work. I think Citrus Moon’s pattern works nicely with the Gérard image and provides a lovely bit of color right now. I used this fantastic tool to get the font and design colors from colr.org. You give it the url of an image and it tells you the codes for the colors used in that image. So this blue and that tan color? They’re actually from Cupid and Psyche’s digital image. This is the most (two-handed) fun you’ll ever have with an image.

In other news, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by The Phoenix. I did a podcast interview with him about my side project, Avalon Oracle. He runs an interesting blog exploring things heard or read about and injects a healthy dose of skepticism and science into an open minded attitude.

He’s such a nice guy. So, so nice and sweet. I think we got along naturally and easily, making the interview fun. This the first time The Phoenix had received a reading. I’ll let you read about how it went. Click HERE and frantically hit refresh until he posts it.

As a bonus, you’ll be able to hear my dorky voice and how I cackle when I laugh.

I can’t wait to see the post on The Phoenix!

    LOVE the new design.

Thank you Lisa! I’m rather fond of this one.

Seriously, don’t you love the French? Look at the posture of his hand above, the delicacy of his fingers. Look at her eyes. And her impeccable coiffeur…which is, of course, a French word.

Hats off once more to your cropping skills. You took what I think is essentially a naughty picture and turned it into something ethereal and passionate by throwing 80% of it out. Very, very interesting.

Thank you, Sara. That’s a lovely compliment.

And oh yes, I adore the French! His hand is amazing. My first crop only had her fabulous coiffeur and left out her face, but once I included her gaze I knew I had it.

I’m also quite fond of naughty pictures, and violent ones now that I’m thinking about it, there’s always an odd beauty along with the drama.
