Am I Worth So Little?
South Dakota’s Senate passed a bill that bans most abortions in a 23 to 13 vote.
The bill next goes to the anti-abortion governor.
There are no exceptions for rape or even if the health of the pregnant woman is threatened. Some tried to include those provisions but they were shut down.
Said by Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition:
“We will do everything in our power to network with the pro-life, pro-family organizations across the nation to make available to the state of South Dakota every resource to fight this expected litigation. We are literally seeing the foundations of Roe v. Wade crumble.â€
The message is clear.
Women are not important.
According to the beliefs behind this bill, a woman could be brutally raped but her function as an incubator is more important than her health, mental stability, or her future.
According to the beliefs behind this bill, a woman could suffer extreme complications during a pregnancy but her function as an incubator is more important than the health problems that may ravage her heart or leave her brain damaged for life. Because, you know, she didn’t actually die so she’s pretty much okay.
I’m appalled that the people in this country feel so little for their mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends. I’m appalled that I mean so little to you because I have a uterus. This is belittling and humiliating. This is degradation at its most base level.
This is abuse.
I suggest all of you write to South Dakota’s governor and then to your own governors and let them know that you are horrified that your life counts for so little.

Here is the deal. The child means everything UNTIL it makes its way out of the birth canal, then its on its own. These same people who will FORCE, yes FORCE, women to have children NO MATTER WHAT vote down bills all the time that will insure the the child has health care or bitch about people living off of welfare. It might be an ugly thing to say, but its true. We love the child, that is until its born, then its fuckt. Its easy to say all that bullshit when you don’t see the ugliness of ridiculously impoverished people.
These are the people who probably think that if you are raped, that you should try and see the bright side of the experience be cause now you are bringing life into the world and its not so bad. Maybe I should forceably rape some of those bastards in the ass with a broomstick and we’ll see how they are doing emotionally.
I’m sick of this “every child is a gift” mentality. Fetuses turn into babies who turn into children who turn into men and women. Women get raped or women have unwanted pregnancies or whatever. I’m not going to judge why any woman has an abortion because once you start doing that, then you start taking away rights based on this or that. The law covers all pregnancies.
What I can’t understand is why these same fetuses who turn into women are no longer important when they turn into women. Maybe because some jackasses think that they serve one procreation purpose and even if a woman is raped, well, maybe she’ll have a son who can help our cause one day or some insane shit like that. I’ll stop now. I could go on forever about this topic which pisses me off to no end because some people are just hell bent on power and control, which is all this really is about.

I tried to stop myself, but I just can’t fucking can’t. What in the fuck is a family value anyway????? Can someone fucking tell me?
If your bill is stating that a complicated pregnancy cannot be terminated, how is this pro life for the woman? It’s not, you misogynistic motherfuckers! Ughh, I’m so angry.
Point two:Is this woman not part of some family? Possibly, your own family. Are you saying that any woman should suffer, on many levels, so that your ridiculous agenda be furthered??

That does make me angry. I saw the best sticker on someone’s car the other day. It said, “How can you trust me with a child if you can’t even trust me with a choice.” Well said!
Honestly, I don’t think any man should even be part of the decision. Its very easy to have Pro-life views when you aren’t the one that will grow and child then push it out of your vagina. I think this is a decision best left to women of child-bearing age.
I’ve noticed that most pro-life people have never adopted children. I’ve asked those who feel Pro-life in my own family if they would ever consider adoption. They’ve all responded with a firm, “No way!” And I ask why and they say, “Well, I don’t want a kid that might have had a crack habbit or will have all sorts of problems because the mom didn’t take take of it while she was pregnant.” I ask, “so when these kids are born, do you want to pay for the healthcare and needs of this child? ANd they say, “HELL NO!” And I say, “If you force women to carry out a pregnancy she doesn’t want, who WILL take care of these children. Do you really expect a woman to take great care of her body and baby if you FORCE her to go through with the pregnancy.
If there were an abundance of loving homes for unwanted children, there MIGHT be an argument for being Pro-life but there are so many children out there stuck in a broken system with no one. And not enough homes. And really, I’d rather see a woman end a pregnancy early on than have her carry it out, have a child she doesn’t want and have that poor little person know every day of his/her life that they weren’t wanted. What kind of a “life” is that to “choose”?

They’re trying to instigate lawsuits. They want this to get before the newly remodeled Supreme Court.
Sickening.

I e-mailed this guy. This pisses me off as well. There absolutly has to be, at least, exeptions to this rule. I don’t agree with the woman who use this as birth control. I do agree that there MUST be a choice! I couldn’t imagine the horrible consequences from this ban. There will be desperate woman and girls that will do anything to terminate a preganancy. By doing so may terminate two lives or more babies found in dumpsters. Are they giving free medical help to these woman, free shelter, food, milk, baby clothes, daycare, diapers…….???? The consequences are imaginable!

Pro life means for life right?! So, whose life are we talking about, the life of the mother of the fetus, the life of the family of the unwanted pregnancy, the life of the poor child who will be born unwanted into a harsh, harsh, world. Im so sad.

To my understanding, it is intended as a hateful law, one intended to be overturned. The odd rules of common law give the Supreme court an opportunity to overturn Roe V. Wade, which has been responsible for many women killed by infection or inadvertently sterilized, or mentally damaged from feelings of guilt.
By writing the law in a hateful way, they have a greater likelihood of having their law overturned. Thus extremists of both sides join to oppress the reasonable, rational middle.
If the Court overturns Roe V. Wade, then each state will return to regulation of its abortion medical practices, like all other medical practices that are regulated by the state governments, and then the sensible, rational middle will craft a reasonable law. If that law is bad, well, the state boundary is a bus ride away. Such is the system we now have.
And women who desire to not be raped, can learn to protect themselves, train to use and carry a gun, and be careful where they go, and with whom they associate. Rapists are evil, but that evil does not work corruption of the blood, and should not lead to execution of the child.
In a perfect world, there would be no violent crime. In a slightly less than perfect world, the perpetrator would be shot dead just before he could commit a violent crime.

Don, welcome.
Did you say, “women WHO DESIRE NOT TO BE RAPED”???
That’s outdated, irrational thinking my friend. What about the thirteen year olds who are raped by Daddy? What about date rape drugs? What about women raped in their own homes? Please, I implore you stop thinking like a 1940s macho man and please understand that women do not desire to be raped and that the women who are raped aren’t out in short skirts walking down dark alleys at midnight.
I don’t want babies to die either, but I do not believe that the unborn trump the already born.
